These terms are the agreement between you and Heartside for using the Heartside apps for phone and watch, the website, and our sync and sharing services. By using Heartside you agree to them.

1. Not veterinary advice

Heartside helps you record measurements your veterinarian asks for. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a substitute for professional care. Alerts and limits are only as accurate as the counts and settings entered. If you’re worried about your pet, contact your veterinarian or an emergency clinic right away.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Heartside on devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the rules of the App Store or Google Play.

3. Your data is yours

You own everything you enter. We claim no rights to it. You’re responsible for who you share links and PINs with, and for keeping your own backups.

4. Free features

Counting, full history, alerts, count reminders, your vet’s details, visit prep, backup, export, 30-day reports and one-time share links are free. We won’t move them behind a payment.

Medications, dose reminders and the symptom, weight and appetite log are part of Heartside Plus.

5. Heartside Plus

Plus is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks extra features for as long as the feature exists, on devices signed in to the same store account and Family Sharing group. Live sync and video sync are subject to fair-use limits: up to 6 members per pet, 10 active live links, synced videos of up to 30 seconds with a set number of clips per pet in each 90 days (videos sync for 90 days, then stay only on the phones that have them), and expiry after 12 months of inactivity.

6. Tips

Tips are voluntary one-time payments that support development. They don’t unlock features and aren’t refundable except where required by law or store policy.

7. Refunds

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies.

8. Acceptable use

  • Don’t try to break, overload or bypass the limits of our services, or guess other people’s PINs.
  • Don’t use share links to send anything other than Heartside data.
  • Don’t reverse-engineer the service except as allowed by law.

9. Service availability

The app works fully offline. We aim to keep sync and sharing running, but they may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. If we ever shut down a server feature, we’ll give at least 90 days’ notice and keep your on-device data and exports working.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Heartside is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on readings. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless your local consumer law says otherwise.

12. Changes and contact

We’ll update the date above and tell you in the app before material changes take effect. Questions: hello@heartside.app.
